These things are designed to be used by computer programs, right? So ask your friendly local programmer to write a program to use them for something, and she’ll go try to dig up the official documentation on what to do, and pretty quickly find that there isn’t any for URLs; everything on the subject officially expired years ago. It turns out that all the official documentation is now about “URIs” not “URLs”, so that’s what you’ve been using in recent years, whether you know it or not…. [ongoing]

I got an email this morning. Very interesting. It was addressed to Dane and used his name in the first line of the email.

Here is who it was CC’d to:

Yes it was spam. Interesting though how it came from an AOL account but the remove tag was for an MSN email address.

Damn I’m tired…
Zac’s teething again so he doesn’t much like the idea of sleeping all night long. For comfort he’s been moving into bed with us during the night. Unfortunately that means that not only do i get feet in the back, my hair pulled, whacked with flailing arms at odd hours of the night for no reason, but it means that I don’t sleep very well since I can’t comfortably sprawl out.

The repercussions: I’m a grouchy SOB in the morning.

This has been going on for some days now. I plan very much on sleeping most of the day Saturday. I’ve also been tapping my strength reserves to get the yard together (roses pruned, trees pruned, lawn mowed, garden weedeated, brush hauled out back, etc…etc..) and haven’t been feeling up to par last couple of days. I think I may have caught a stomach bug.

I’m damn tired.

I like penguins!…
For the record, the old HP that could never hook up to DSL, the reason my brother and I assembled this (my first and not last) computer and kicked off my official education in geek-dom, is up and running Red Hat Linux. By tonight (Murphy willing) it will be on the network and for the first time, on a high speed connection.

What do I have to say about Linux? I like it!

On a side note…
If you ever think your computer is slow, try using a 366mhz for a bit. It makes you realize just how far things have come. I must say though, the Linux operating system is much faster than the previous install of Windows98/ME that I started it up with yesterday.

Interesting…
Hmm…I can now purchase an additional 50 megs of server space on my radio weblog for $39.95. It’s a one time fee. Of course, I still have to pay $39.95 a year for the license to use Radio. But that’s cool.
