There’s something for everyone and HEY! Please feel free to send us your favorites. We can’t wait to try them. Robert from over at A Work in Progress sent in an awesome recipe for Copper River Salmon.

Sorry about the funny type errors on the individual entries. Still trying to get the bugs worked out.

Happy B-Day

Just wanted to take a moment to wish my son a happy birthday. Happy 2nd Birthday Zac.

Virus Attacks

Already this morning I’ve got 15 emails with Netsky and 17 with Beagle. That’s 32 attempts to compromise my system that didn’t work.

“Are you one?”

Hey Joe! I’m a weekend blogger!

He’s Faster Than You Are

Gotta say I love the fact that Dane over at Business-Opportunities scooped all the *airquote* A-listers *airquote* and even Linux Today with the I, Cringely article on the WRT54G router.

Can we get a big w00t? w00t! w00t!

Errors and Changes

I keep getting this weird error telling me “The MySQL server has gone away.” Funny thing is, I don’t get the error on CampinGuy.com that is running Wordpress at the same ISP. I’ve also gotten funny errors when using Zempt. I get the same error from a couple of different ISP’s so I’m starting to think maybe my MT install is crashing.

Where do I want to go from here is the question. Do I want to use MT 2.664 like i have been or move over to Wordpress? Changing to Wordpress might introduce some new variables and issues. Or I could wait for MT3.0 and upgrade but I use 4 blogs to run this one site, something not covered by the freebee license. We’ll see how it goes.

Start your own wireless ISP

Over at Business Opportunities, Dane found a great article over at I, Cringely about turning your Linksys WRT54G into a wireless ISP. I bet most people didn’t know they’re running Linux and it’s very easy to hack.

Tres cool sirs. My WRT54G happens to cover half the neighborhood.

Branding through characters

There’s a great article over at Fast Company about building brands with characters. Some of the more famous characters mentioned are the Maytag repairman and the M&M talking candies. Definitely something you need to check out.

Welcome to the Future

It occured to me the other day that Bluetooth, if nutured properly, could change the way we interact with our computers and other devices in our homes. Don’t believe me? Take a look at these examples.

Washers and Dryers
Cars
Medical
Games

The thing is, these are all devices that you can go out and buy RIGHT NOW. They’re not prototypes. They’re not ideas still on the drawing board. They’re actually out there for you to try.

Imagine being able to drive up to your house and click a button on you cell phone. The garage opens and you pull in. Push another button and the alarm inside shuts off and the lights come on. Click another button and the blinds open.

Welcome to the future.
