When Good Go Bad

Over at another one of my sites Tom, one of the contributors to my site, put up an article about speed running Half Dome and a 2 man attempt at speed climbing record. This morning I received an email from an organization dedicated to helping stop abuse of sled dogs. What threw me for a loop was the subject line of the email was Re: “Yosemite Speed: Half Dome Running and Nose Climbing Records”.

So this kinda pissed me off. This group, no I’m not going to do them the courtesy of a link, obviously has alerts setup for certain words (probably running) that appear on blogs. When the word comes up they email spam them. Not a very polite way to try to garner supporters in my opinion.

  1. I certainly didn't intend to alienate you. You're the one who mentioned Iditarod mushers in your message. I was merely pointing out that although Iditarod mushers are very much concerned with speed, they aren't in the same league as bikers, runners, speed walkers, etc. The dogs are the athletes and do most of the work not the mushers. Surely, you don't think that mushers who sit or lie down and sometimes sleep in their sleds are in the same category as bikers, runners, hikers, etc.
