Developing A Workflow With DNG

There's a great article over on PhotoshopNews.com about developing a workflow for your high end digital camera using Adobe's DNG converter.

If you haven't heard about DNG it's the newest in formats set to replace the already antiquating RAW and NEF format. DNG in theory provides more bits of data meaning better resolution images. When using the converter you're able to leverage the RAW data from your camera and even embed the RAW data into your image file.

The article suggests using the DNG converter to download information directly from the camera or card and use it as the transport medium. Me personally, I like to move the NEF-RAW files to my hard drive first then convert them insuring I still have my RAW files safely tucked away on my hard drive.

I know it's an extra step but when you're life is your photos, it's worth it.
