Microsoft One Note...
Ahh hah! I finally got MS One Note up and running on my laptop and it IS as cool as I thought it would be. Totally totally cool.
You can take notes, draw, doodle, highlight, handwrite notes if you got a stylus or even with a mouse, search those notes later as you can with a tablet pc, integrate your notes into Office, Outlook, Word, whatever, share notes, and even record audible notes. If THIS were integrated into Radio or MT THAT would be tres cool!
I'm sure I'll have more comments on One Note but for the moment, I'm in heaven.
In adendum: One more cool thing, it automatically saves your notes so if your laptop shuts down or unexpectedly quits, odds are your notes are safe.
MSVDM...
So I've been playing with the Microsoft PowerToys for WindowsXP and I've currently got the MSVDM (Microsoft Virtual Desktop Manager) going. It's Microsofts odd way of trying to get Linux users. Personally, I don't think having four desktops in Windows is any better than normal, except I don't have Internet Explorer trying to consolidate all the windows I have open into one tab.
On this desktop my News Aggregator,on this one the post I'm currently working on, on this desktop I've got the window open to the Microsoft site where I pulled the link from and on the last desktop I have nothing.
I guess it's cool. You get 5 buttons on the taskbar. One for each desktop and one that shows all four so you can choose. One of the other cool things is you can share the applications across all desktops, or not. You can also choose individual desktop themes and backgrounds to lend a truly unique feel to each.
TopStyle Pro...
While doing a little bit of fix-it work over at CampinGuy.com I decided to try out a CSS editor that Dane had turned me onto. I have to admit I'm pretty impressed.
Bradsoft's TopStyle Pro is a superb CSS editor. A simple interface much like the VB/J++ interface makes it easy to make changes to your code. I was thrilled it let you view your CSS in an active page in the interface and even showed what tags are supported by which browser when you selected them in the interface. Rave reviews from me.
Product Review: Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical...
My sister and I are both using the Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical mouse and I must say, what a mouse. The MouseMan Dual features the "standard" 3button/wheel mouse configuration as well as toting an additional programmable side button and an innovative ergonomic design. The general shape of the mouse is slightly curved with a higher arc to the middle making for a comfortable fit. Perfect for people like me who make their living point-and-clicking all day. It's a definite must have for the office. Check it out here
Oh, BTW, at the time of this posting it was selling for $27 (US). A good deal considering the $59 MSRP Logitech suggests and the $39 retail store price.
